Profiles
Welcome to the SCR Profile pages. They are updated regularly and showcase what is working well in regeneration in Scotland, the UK and beyond. The Profiles offer an insight into an amazing range of action and approaches.
Each of the Profiles is a case study. They are either about a particular way of working, for example being more joined up or about a project which has made a difference.
The Profiles have been designed to give you a quick overview of:
• The issues people faced
• What they did to address those issues including how they got started
• What changed as a result of their work
• The lessons they learnt as result of their work
They also give the people and organisations involved in the work an opportunity to talk about ‘one great thing’ which makes their work stand out.
Profiles are about networking as well as information!
We see the Profiles as a starting point. If you want to find out more, and we hope you do, please use the contact details. We have made sure that people are happy to talk and share their experience in more detail.
The Profiles have been organised under the following headings:
• Joining up regeneration activity
• Linking economic opportunity and community need
• Developing active citizenship
• Creating vibrant and mixed communities
You can also look for Profiles by key words, local authority area, or target group.
We have recently added new profiles on the co-location of services. They are based on research which we jointly commissioned with Glasgow North Ltd.
These include:
• Kenton Customer Service Centre
• North West Kilmarnock Area Centre
• Strathbrock Partnership Centre
If you would like your own work to be considered, or you would like to recommend someone else’s work to be profiled, please contact us at the SCR.
The views expressed in the Profiles are not necessarily shared by the Scottish
Centre for Regeneration, Communities Scotland or the Scottish Government.
An alphabetical list of all profiles is available.
